"Oh... um... I mean they're nice I guess. I didn't spend a lot of time at home. I got sent off to the Doji first then back home for a bit then to the Daidoji. I do have a sister... um... she's still a kid though."

"I was taken in by my aunt and uncle, they raised me. My aunt is one way to the world, and another at home on her riverboat behind closed doors. To me, she's very strict. Im nothing to her but extension of her, and her reputation." She states it cooly, it's just a fact she's come to terms with.
"My uncle... he's kind to me, though. So it balances out, i guess."

Narumi pushed her lips together... "How..." she started, and panicked, before diving in. "How would you feel about life on a riverboat? You said you wanted to travel... I mean. Um. There's no better way, um, to see Rokugan. The River of Gold is really beautiful..."
She held her breath and glanced up.
