"Uh... well he's a Mantis. He's older than us but not super old. He's captain of a boat... ship? I never really understood the difference." Another pause, "I met him when Asahina-sama had me deliver a message to him. Weird though, there wasn't a scroll or anything, just to 'give him the message'." The big man shrugs and still seems puzzled, "I still don't understand but I guess he found it hilarious somehow? He left for a few seasons but when he came back he sought me out and seems to like spendin' time and we hang out whenever he's in port now."

"Sounds like he's probably seen some interesting things. Tells you a lot of stories of his sea adventures then?" Murato asks.

Bo nods enthusiastically, "Oh yeah! He goes all over and brings back interesting stories and food."

"Listen, I've been speaking to Shika Katsuteru-sama. We became friends after the passing of Shika Soboku-san, may his ancestors receive him, who I wrote the obituary for. He and I are of the opinion that Deer involvement in the Lion-Crane conflict would be disastrous for those involved. I was hoping, as a respected member of our prestigious hosts, you could help... promote and understanding. That said, I do not expect this for free, so if there's anything I can do for you..."

But I did not know you knew the castellan; perhaps you might note to him that I might serve well amid the magistracy. It'd be a kindness, truly, and the kind of thing that'd be remembered."

Straightening and nodding, he cuts his eyes towards Bo and Murato.
