She nodded as politely as she could while hurrying in front of the line of other marriage prospects waiting for their turn, and went further down the hall until she found a folding screen. She took as dainty a step as she could behind it, then, protected by the social understanding that what happens behind a folding screen remains behind that folding screen, began to cough her lungs out, only slightly figuratively.
"Oh... sweet Jurojin... please..." she whispered, no, prayed, trying to regain her breath.
And then like a dark omen a great dark bird flew over the folding screen eying her , as if to see if she was food or not.
The ornament at its leg at least implied that it wasn't wild.
Which might also be because there was a angry noise and then a tall woman walked around the folding screen " no there is no mice for you to eat and .
Oh "
She says clearly not having assumed someone else would be there

"Ah," Fujiko answered, half bent with her sleeve over her mouth to silence her coughing.
She hurriedly got back up, hiding the red stain on it behind her.
"You..." she hesitated before trying to play it off as nothing. "You know how it is with make up."
Only then did she take the time to look at the person who barged in. Then did it again, respectfully.
Then had to stop herself from doing it a third time.
"Oh."

The Kaito smiled. "It is an honor to meet you Hiroto sama. It is okay. This..." She looked around. "Event can be rather stressing and get on one's nerves." She gave a nod. "It is understandable."

Emiko looked at the others and took a moment to calm herself.
It's ok...there are other days...
She then forced herself to smile again and bowed to others as she passed through to make her /exit (unless stopped)

Hikimasu was outside getting his calm in order. He saw Emiko still inside, walking out. Maybe he should say hello, or apologize for almost bumping her earlier, or maybe she wanted to be alone, or maybe he should take care of himself first
Or maybe he should really stop staring while he thinks about it.

Yes, I think I can say, for once, that most people here are more upset than I am...
