Fujiko stumbled back into the wall, covered in sweat and breathing with difficulty. A samurai had to always be ready to die, but perhaps she'd taken that a bit too literally for a simple kemari ball.

She fell down upon a bench and started doing breathing exercises, doing her best to stop her body from breaking down from exertion.

"Why... why kemari... why..." she repeated that mantra as she regretted her choices in life.
Hikimasu watched the Moth attempt to recover. He wondered if everything she did she tried so hard, so far that was the case.

He didn't approach her, though he wasn't far away, wallflowering as he does.

"I have no doubt that she's a beauty in her own right. But rivals you? I imagine you're just being humble for propriety's sake," he says with a playful smirk, more innocent and complimentary in tone than flirtations. As someone supporting a friend might speak.

"But yes, I wouldn't mind introducing you to Moshumaru, given the chance." He seemed like he'd be happy to do so, but he wasn't in a rush. After all, she did say she preferred the company of ladies. So he'd likely be more keen on helping her find someone among those he was also interested in.
Koi smiled bashfully but shook her head. "As much as she is younger than me she has a good heart and head. She comes from a family that have done great things for my Clan, and her Father-dono is a figure of compassion as much as I grumble."

Koi nodded before her mannerisms turned stiffer. "G-Gomen..please one moment..."

Koi noticed her cousin coming out and raised her hand to her Kitsu companion. "Gomen, I need to see to my cousin.."

Koi practically in the most respectful way and Samurai like that she could moved to be in front of her cousin. "Fu-chan?" She said worriedly, kneeling down. "Are the wind kami cutting your breathing? Do you need help?"

Out came the fan as Shizuka stepped away from the kemari field to join the observers. She nodded to the people she recognized but was ever so subtly more concerned about cooling off after that exertion.

"Not, I think, my pastime of choice," Aimi murmured companionably to the reserved Shiba, "but yes. It was nice to pursue a challenge based on what I could do, rather than who other people were."

A moment later she realised Raizo hadn't actually spoken aloud... ah well, it wasn't like it was a sin to be able to pick up on such cues. Maybe she could mumble something about the whispers of the air kami revealing his thoughts or something. Hmm, no, that might make him feel exposed and paranoid. Bah.
Well, that officially means we're at least somewhat on the same page.

"It's not a game I have much experience with either, but at least, as you say, it was about your ability rather than your lineage."

He glanced over at the two Moth in some concern.

"Although it's a bit sobering to see how taxing it has proven for others..."

Shortly after the pretty little distressed Moth came Narumi, gasping for breath and clutching her chest, flushed to a bright red, her cheeks wet.
Her composure shaken, she narrowly located a cushion, and fell to it rather ungracefully, slick hair falling to obscure her face.
All the better, she thought bitterly. If only there were a rock for me to crawl under and die.
It was everything she could manage to keep herself from breaking down then and there, wracked with acute and thundering pain as she was.

Without a single word, and without considering her own state of exhaustion, the little Otter was by her kins side.

"It's ok Narumi-san, I'm here" she said quietly, sitting with the woman "do you need anything?"

She could've hugged Emiko. As it was, Narumi couldn't even raise her gaze to look at her. Not yet. Still wheezing. She simply shakes her head, and even that hurts. Perhaps she had whiplash.
"I'll be fine, Emiko-sama," she replies hoarsely, after a moment, and presses her eyes closed in an attempt to stop the room from spinning.
It doesn't help.

Emiko bit her lip, concerned for her kin.

"Can I help you back to your room at least?"

"Ah, nee-sama. I... I just need to take a break, I think." She looked to the side, to a beautiful lady who also fell down on a pillow, clearly as out of it as she was. "What were they thinking, with that test? Look around you, it looks like an infirmary at the edge of a battlefield, not the waiting room for a miai."
