(Day 5, EM) The Late Arrival

[Otomo Akimoro]

Akimoro considers the trio of rice balls before, it seems, selecting one completely at random.

"Not the sort of fare we're used to, I suppose," he says, considering the morsel, "but I must assume they are of satisfactory quality, if you're taking them on the way out to train. From...what was it called, the Sleepy Fox Inn? That was the location described in my invitation..."

[Seppun Yuzu]

"Picky as any Imperial, neh, Otomo-san?" He says, raising an eyebrow as the Otomo selects one of the three onirigi, "I hope you got the ume-flavored one. It is one of the best."

Yuzu chuckles, "Kyuden Shika is like that. Several hidden flavors."

[Otomo Akimoro]

"Good ones, I hope," says the Otomo before taking a bite of the rice ball. Whatever the flavor is, he seems to approve of it. "There's been no trouble?"

[Seppun Yuzu]

“Well. Personal troubles: plenty. Worrisome. None, that I would be aware of.” He mentions with an approving nod at the random choice.

[Otomo Akimoro]

"Anything I might be able to do to help?" offers Akimoro.

[Seppun Yuzu]

"Perhaps. But I wouldn't trouble Otomo-san with these matter since he just got here. Tomorrow, if you can make some time, we could have tea."

[Otomo Akimoro]

"That sounds marvelous, yes," replies Akimoro. "I'll not hold up your training any longer, but perhaps at some point in the coming days I might seek your input on my technique? I've learned something of the way of the blade, mostly in passing, but I could certainly do with some more formal instruction."

[Seppun Yuzu]

“I confess I was about to reprimand one of the Otomo to carry such a blade. Yet, I am sure Otomo-san can enlighten me into his heirloom, and the reasons why he got permission to carry such a holy symbol.” The young boy mentions with a gentle bow.

"A gift from an esteemed mentor," replies the Otomo, "who showed me a path to follow when I had none, and by doing so made me who I am today. I'll have to introduce you to him when I'm next in the capital."

“Interesting gift indeed.” He says, triple checking the item. That chrysanthemum shining bright. “It’s the symbol of the Hantei Dynasty. Often adapted to the use of the Seppun Family, like mine,” he show and adds, “and in the badge of the Imperial Magistery and Legions.”

The boy nods, “I confess I am rather curious to understand who gifted Otomo-san that and even more to meet such important person.”
