"When the time comes," he says, "I'll be happy to do my part in that. Far as I know, it hasn't happened yet; at least, I've not been told as much.

"But that does bring a question to mind," he continues. "Why've I been assigned to the miai? You wouldn't happen to've heard anything on that, by chance?"

"Well, obviously the Fate of the Empire rests upon not letting you free to work your wiles upon the samurai of the empire at large." she offers with mock seriousness.

She grins.

"Who can say? The practitioners of musubu say it must be done, and so it must. We are but threads in a greater tapestry after all." with a bit more seriousness.

Nesshin pulls a grave face.

"If the fate of the Empire demands it, I suppose I must restrain myself," he says soberly. "Though the ladies and youth of the Empire will be the worse off for it."

He holds the sober face a moment, then grins. "And I will, of course, present us as well as I can."

Yuki nodded.

"Ah, I've no worries there Nesshin-san." she assured him. "You'll do the Deer proud, regardless of what colors you end up in at the end of the day."

The pair had reached the castle.

"Well, I better report in, and get about my patrol. Stop by my quarters sometime and we can chat about how the miai's going for you, yeah?"

"I'll do that," Nesshin say with a bow, ending the /scene?
